Default Peltier Element

I bought a 80watt Peltier Element about a year ago and wired it up with a Molex plug but never used it. And when I moved a month or so ago I found it in my desk. So I'm thinking about putting it on my video card that has a water block on it. Question is. Do I just put the Peltier under the block and mount the block on top of it? Or are you suppose to buy a diff type of block for Peltiers?

Ok so now if I wanted to use this I'd need to sell my gpu block first.... err.

Do peltiers get the cards well below just water cooling temps?

depends on teh wattage, but assuming you have a halfway decent one and its water cooled, there will be a noticable, quite large, temp drop

You could buy a kit like the Danger Den or Swiftech ones, or you could ghetto it up and use your own block. Check the link in my sig for my first TEC project with a video card and oddly-shaped block.
