| Beautiful as usual, man! The polished aluminum is my favorite part, I believe. I was wondering when this one would get finished up...I had thought you originally planning on wrapping it up about a month ago...haven't talked to you in a while, so I was afraid you'd been hit by a bus or something. Glad to see you were able to get back to it and make the final product so damned snazzy.
Congrats, dude. |

However, I use House of Kolor paints all the time and they are fantastic. The blowhole is no more noisey than a standard blowhole but I would guess the air flow is not at good. A lot of air moves out of the case but some times you have balance performance and bling. I think this is a good trade off considering there is no blow hole venting in this case stock.
We tried a standard automotive clear coat. The same type that we would normall apply over a glossy paintjob and it did not work. There are other types of clear coat that a specifically designed for sealing metal. Quote:

Congrats, dude. | This project was delayed for exactly a month. There were a number of setbacks along the way and the clear coat was one of them. Since the clear would not properly adhere to the metal it all had to be stripped and the pieces needed to be buffed all over again. That was a pain and took a lot of time.
Now I have left the aluminum bare with not clear at all. Whoever wins this case will need to bey a jar of Mother's Aluminum Mag Polish and maintain the shine with buffing, but it doesn't take much.
The other issue was that I started the Ghost Rider project this month and also finished 2 other cases. One of the cases has been sold on eBay and the other is being reviewed by Velocity Reviews right now. All of these things taken together formed the "perfect **** storm" and I was not able to move as fast as I would have liked. Good news is, I MADE IT!
Thanks for the support fellas!

| The side needs something, it's far too plain when looking at the case as a whole. |

If powder-coating really is something one can do at home, I'd love to see a tutorial on it.
Thanks! |

| Re: .::High Roller::. hey, I was reading about this the other day and saw the video (excellent video btw, much more details that photos just dont capture, like the chrome finish on the front plates)
I gotta say that I absolutely love your case and think it looks fantastic, quick question though... The blowhole cover is the derby cover right? What a cool idea in mixing motorcycle/automotive parts with a case, especially considering the theme employed in this one! I'm building something right now and about to go to the hardware store looking for handles and reflectors for my case...
what do you think about the possiblity of putting something like this on a case? http://www.hotleathers.com/detail.aspx?ID=26324
Please send me an email if you consider doing it, as i'd love to see what you would cook up after seeing this one! |
