Selection of Gallery Pics for Ophidian
Because of the highly polished finish on Ophidian we had some difficulty taking pictures off the case. Even using a light box we still ended up with reflections and sun spots! It just a testiment to the finish on this project. The case has several coats of clear coat on it and has been buffed and polished with Turtle Wax.

We used a black drop cloth to help defuse some of the light, it also have us richer looking pictures! A big thanks to Mark for all the photography help. Also a big thanks to everyone for your comments! We appreciate your support for this project and look forward to cranking out the next one.

It looks flippin' beautiful, Stu. Yet more incredibly fine work from you guys.

One thing I've always thought of doing (and which would apply here too, thus my mentioned it) is to rip out the blue LEDs from the light controller...I'm getting ready to do a build where I'd like 'em to be red. I have to investigate the difficulty of getting to them to solder new ones in. I think Ophidian would also benefit from this...green LEDs in there would look amazing.

In any case, that is the most nit-picky thing I could possiby think of. This case is a true work of art. Congrats.

Thanks Grez, I totally agree with you on the light bus. The sunbeam uses those little flat LEDs that are soldered to the mobo making it difficult but I did give it some thought too. If you figure it out let me know because I would love to use it on future projects.

One idea I had was to use yellow gells like you would use on a stage spot light and simply cover the blue LED with yellow and see if I could generate the desired green.

Oh, I hate those little things. It's funny...as soon as you mentioned that, the first thing I thought of was trying to change the color via a mask of some sort (and some basic color spectrum knowledge ), and then your very next paragraph said exactly that! LOL

Well, I just ordered one of these puppies too (when Xox had 'em on sale) that I'm going to use in a fairly straightforward project soon (building a PC for parental units). If I come up with anything, you'll be the first to know.

If I can't change the color in my upcoming build (blue will really, really clash in this case), I may just pull the cover and Sharpie the little boogers in completely black! Sharpie to the rescue! No light may be preferable in that case. We'll see.

But now I've gone and hijacked your thread...a thousand apologies. Congrats again, man. You and Adam never cease to surprise everyone with what you come up with.
