Lightbulb ::My First Project::

This will be my first project... unfortunatley I don't a ton of money at the moment so I probably won't be done until late spring... Basicly what I am trying to do is build a "High End" system that will be able to run graphics programs flawlessly and some gaming as well... Im looking to mod the case somewhat but I am not realy into cutting cases with dremels (I can only picture my case being a mess if I were to do this myself), I plan on having customwatercuts.com cut a custom window into my side panel and have a few custom fan grills made... I am also going to have shatteredweb.com make me some vinyls to apply to the case. I will keep this thread updated as the project progresses. Below is a list of components that I plan on using.

Case: Silverstone Nimiz (Black)
Motherboard: ASUS A8V-Deluxe SLI
CPU: AMD 64 FX -55 (Socket: 939)
Memory: 1GB Corsair XMS DDR PC-4000
HDD#1&2: DUAL Western Digital Raptor 10,000rpm 36GB
HDD#3: Maxtor DiamondMax Plus10 300GB
Vid Card: DUAL NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultras
Sound Card: Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Gamer
PSU: PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 510 Deluxe Express
Monitor: Dell UltraSharp 2001FP
Keyboard: Logitech Elite
Mouse: Logitech MX1000 Mouse

My case should be here on monday but here are my basic plans for the mods. What im trying to do is preserve the sleekness of the case but at the same time give it some personality.

Below: An overview of the exterior Mods.

Below: Close up of the vinyl for the top of the case.

Below: Below the vinyl for the right side of the case.

Below: The custom cut window for the Left Side of the case.
.::To check out the final design click the pdf. file that is attached!

Below: The vinyl for the door that covers the drive bays.

Below: The custom fan grills.

12.6.04
Below: Look what was left on my doorstep.

Below: The case with Vantec Vortex HDD cooler.

**I know the pictures are huge... I will resize them tommarow**

**More Pictures To Come As Parts Start Arriving**

Looks like a fun project, though 2gb of nice ram like that would be a waste, imo.. you will never notice a difference from 1024 to 2gb, unless you plan on running 5 instances of Photoshop CS and play Doom3, UT2k4 and HAlf Life 2 at the same time or something

i hope they can make that fan grill work. the corners of the inside scope looks like they will break off easily. its not even connected in the very center. anyways, looks nice, i like that name DEFCON. seems great.

Looks like you have all of your ducks in a row, if you wanted to save some money maybe go with a less expensive AMD 64 the AMD 64 FX -55 is a lot of $$$. You could probably get the FX series I like the core that they use. That is just my two bits. I like your case selection nice work!!

Thanx for all the positive feedback. In regards to other plans, I think I am going to use white and blue for the lighting, probably 2 white Cold Cathodes and 2 or 3 LED cannons to highlight some of the components.
