On an unrelated note, the lack of proper quotes is scaring me! (fixed) |

| Re: Some Pic's and Ideas Welcome On New i7 Build... Color me jealous. That's the exact board I was gonna use for my next build... well, until I saw that new EVGA Classified. It's still up in the air though, I'm sure the Classified is ridiculously expensive right now.
Oh, and welcome! |

| Re: Some Pic's and Ideas Welcome On New i7 Build... Nice specs. I still havent decided on if I want to use the dual-socket Classified simply because I'm sure the board alone will be over $400, plus add in the cost of another CPU... I'd be very interested to see some benchmarks when you get this baby running! Also, for an SSD boot drive, do you have an available PCI-e lane? Y'know, one thats NOT being eaten up by your massive GPU/PhysX array... |

Thanks for posting. | NortHWizarD, As you said the looks of this build is a big deal along with performance. I think the EK block will perform well in this setup. I hope...
vsop, I agree i also like the Heatkiller block. They seem to perform well. I could not locate all the parts needed for this build from the other manufacture so EK it was. Although I'm not a fan of the mounting brackets/Style of mounting they use. I used a koolance back plate i had to mount it. This way i could get the block a little tighter without flexing the board.
Zenshi, Thanks, I hope it all turns out the way i had imagined it would.
I will be working some more on it today and i will post some more pic's later.
Thanks |

Y'know, one thats NOT being eaten up by your massive GPU/PhysX array... | I have no more PCI-e lanes open except the PCI-e x1 lane at the top of the board and with the oem N/B cooler gone i can use just about any size item in it. I would like to have about 256GB of space on the boot drive. That dual socket Classified M/B is sure to be on my wish list. When all done i will post some scores. Thanks |

| Re: Some Pic's and Ideas Welcome On New i7 Build... I went with 4 128gb SSD's in raid 0 for my boot drive, so 500GB and crazy speed.
If you want 256GB I suggest going with 2 120GB drives in raid 0 to get the extra speed and increased storage. 256GB drives are a bit overpriced. |
