news of the world was my favorite record growing up and is easily the reason i like queen, parents had an old cheap GPX stereo receiver with a built in turntable. that's where my audio interest began. | It's a very close call between News of the World and The Works for me.
For a couple years on this forum I only had Queen avatar/signature combos :P.
Now it's basically whatever fancy new thing perks my interest enough to make it worth opening up Photoshop for 10 minutes, lol. |

| Re: Looking at getting a real amp, version 2 Farscape villain.
I absolutely loved the show, because it's one of the few sci-fi shows I've seen where at the end of nearly every single episode, you have a different status quo. I'm kind of tired of the shows where they might have a big, grand plot, but a problem comes up during an episode, gets solved, and everything is back to it's own relative version of normal at the end of 40 minutes.
Farscape didn't do this at all ^_^. The smaller, episodic problems get solved (sometimes, and even when they do, it's not always in the main character's favor), and the main, epic plot gets advanced some.
Scorpius (the villian in my sig/avy) is particularly complex, because he's not sided with either of the two main groups of villians - kind of with the Peacekeepers, but only out of convenience. He's only out for revenge against the Scarrons (the other baddy group), and only does things out of self interest. He has lots of personal interaction with the main character, and plenty of role changes - from absolute monster, to prisoner, to something almost resembling friendship.
It's hard to explain without watching the show. Anyway it's a got a real stand-alone quality to it that puts it eons above other sci-fi shows I've seen. Lets say that no English words I know can adequately describe just how epic, awesome, and perfect Farscape is ^_^. |

| Re: Looking at getting a real amp, version 2 The drumming thing is actually part of a hallucination that was designed drive the main character insane so that his mind would be weak enough to draw information out of.
It was just so comical that I made it into a sig :P.
"What the frell?" is a jest at the language in Farscape. In order to get around the FCC's ban on swearing in TV (well, it's not a blanket ban but you know what I mean) they invented their own swear words. If they were replaced by the real ones, it would probably be one of hte most vulgar shows ever to air, lol. |

| Re: Looking at getting a real amp, version 2 DVDs are incredibly difficult to find, even in rental stores.
You might have to obtain them through...em...alternate methods.
Whatever you do, don't start watching in Season 2 or 3 or something, you gotta start at the beginning and work your way to the end, culminating in the movie. It really is a very sequential show, and it vastly improves with time - I was hooked from the first episode so that may tell you how awesome it gets.
I guess maybe the first few episodes suffer from stargate-itis, but the plot starts getting thick pretty damn quickly.

Don't get me wrong, Ben Browder is a great actor, I mean, main character in Farscape and all, but they gave him horrible script in SG1, whereas Farscape pretty much gave him free reign in almost writing his own lines. He wasn't really the right guy to fill the roll I guess. IMHO he did good with the lines that were given to him, but bad scriptwriting is bad scriptwriting.
But yeah, just be sure you watch Farscape starting at S1E1, and go sequentially through from there. You'll understand a lot more of what is going on if you start at the beginning, get a lot more out of it.

| Re: Looking at getting a real amp, version 2 cool
yeah, bad scriptwriting seems to be the story on most stuff Sci-Fi channel picks up after a while (lol), its like, low budget fanfic movies just to satisfy people's urge to watch sci-fi, instead of making stuff half decent, lol |

| Re: Looking at getting a real amp, version 2 I loved SG1 when it first started on Showtime. I haven't really watched it since it moved.
I was wondering who was in your signature. I figured it was some kind of twisted, Norwegian, shizer porn, horrorcore, metal band.
Or.... something like that. |

| Re: Looking at getting a real amp, version 2 Lol nothing that twisted or exciting :). Just a TV show I'm obsessed with. Maybe in a few weeks I'll make something even more mysterious that lends itself to even more exciting answers ^_^. |

| Re: Looking at getting a real amp, version 2 Well I Mean come on man. Look at his face. You don't get tumors and lumps like that unless you're infected by something.
My only guess was that he is some weirdo from somewhere in the Scandinavian area who just happened to be beaten and had schizer baths which had infected his eyes. The rubber just speaks of fetish attire and the drums means he plays metal.
Put them all together and you have an extreme metal band that likes skin tight rubber and fountains of dazzlingly colorful poo.
ITS FUN FOR ALL AGES!!!!!!! |

| Re: Looking at getting a real amp, version 2 Well I gotta say it did take me quite some time to get past the "umm...why the **** is my supervillian wearing fetish attire" stage
he looks like he's been bathing in poo because he's half peacekeeper and half scarran (scarrans are reptillian)
the drums i think i mentioned before, but that was part a fun hallucination episode :P |
