| What are you currently playing? I thought I'd start a new thread in the same spirit as the "What are you currently listening to?" thread regarding music in the general section. The idea here is to just post whatever game(s) you're currently playing, what you think about them, whether they were hard to beat, etc. It also will potentially provide a way for people who play the same games but didn't know it to hook up and do multiplayer if desired.
Also, remember that we now have a Xoxide group on Steam (thanks, C.Hill)! If you're not already a member, join up, chump.
Here's the link for our Steam group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/xoxideforums

| Re: What are you currently playing? Ok, so I'll start this off. I just finished playing the following games in the past month or so:
[Oh, and I'll put little 10-point rating numbers after them...feel free to ask me why I rated the way that I did.] - Painkiller - 6
- Painkiller: Battle out of Hell - meh, 5
- Left 4 Dead 2 (beat all of the single player campaigns) - 9
- Section 8: Prejudice (one of the best $15 games I've ever bought) - 8
- The Ball - 8
- Borderlands: Claptrap's New Robot Revolution - 7
I am currently about halfway through playing The Witcher. I grabbed it super cheap on a Steam special...sometimes a frustrating game, but surprisingly addictive...and loooonnnnggg. I think that I have about 45-50 hours into this thing already, and I'm probably only 1/2 - 3/5 of the way through the game. |

| Re: What are you currently playing? Love this new topic Grez.
-ARMA 2 series - Love this things, best simulator shooter out on the market.
-EVE Online - I always had a rule never to buy a pay per month game until I played this. 5 months in and I still enjoy it.
-Dirt 3 - Always a fan of racing games from codemaster, this is no different.
-Mount & Blade series - New Fire and Sword is really entertaining.
ARMA - 9/10
EVE - 9/10
Dirt 3 - 8/10
M&B - 8/10
I was trying to get into Cane and Lynch Dog Days. I got it in a huge Christmas pack with 30 games in it for about $40 or so. Installed it and played for about 6 minutes, I couldn't get over the cam when you ran. It shakes so hard I was having problems running. |

| Re: What are you currently playing? Yes, good idea Grez! You might also wanna throw a link up to the Steam group if you can find it, just a suggestion :P
Anyway, here goes:
Final Fantasy XI - My guilty pleasure. I quit about two or three years back, and just picked it back up maybe two or three weeks ago. So much has changed, it's like a whole new game... Still haven't decided if that's a good thing or not
Mass Effect - Picked up 1 & 2 for like $15 total or something last month. I'm trying to play through the first one so I can start on the second, but... I duno. The background story is really cool (I'm a big technology buff, especially when it comes to things like physics) but the actual gameplay and storyline haven't really hooked me. The second one is supposed to be much better, but it's kinda feeling like a chore to get through the first.
Inside a Star-filled Sky - At least, I think that's the title. It's something like that, anyway. Pretty cool game, it's a top-down shooter with a very interesting dynamic: you can go "into" just about anything you see. Enemies, power-ups, even yourself! Say you get hit by an enemy. You'll get knocked inside yourself, where you can pick up power-ups that will take effect once you go back up a level to give you an edge against the enemy who just shot you. Not finding the kinds of power-ups you want? Dive into a power-up and change it to your liking! You can go infinitely up or down, but the goal is to go up as far as possible. There are also temporary and permanent markers that you can flag as you go over them, and other players will be able to see your flag whenever they get to that marker. The temporary ones only show the flag of the last person who visited them, but if you flag a permanent marker, it will display your flag permanently (imagine that! lol). Very cool concept for a game, and at $8 I definitely recommend it to anyone!
Tvang, what do you like so much about EVE? I tried it out a little since I used to have a lot of friends who played it, and I just couldn't get into it. I do, however, LOVE the fact that they're coming out with that new FPS for PS3 (Dust 517 I think?) that ties directly to EVE. That's pretty much freakin' AWESOME, and it actually kinda makes me wanna buy a PS3 lol. |

| Re: What are you currently playing? EVE is great with people. I have a group of guys I know who play and we all are together in a Corp and part of a larger alliance. There is just so much to do, for the corp to help it out, all the way from helping my alliance in a wormhole that we are currently living in.
I tried it before a few years back and couldn't get into it, but after trying it a second time a few months back and actually hooking up with some people it became much better.
I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a open world type sandbox mmo. |

Yeah, I should upgrade my hardware soon. These games a spec crushers...
For multiplayer: a for real pen and paper game of D&D.
Mostly because why would I play some bitch ass wanna be MMRPG (could be any of them) when I can play the game they all want to be anyways? |

Forgot to mention that I'm also occasionally playing Nancy Drew: The Mystery of Shadow Creek Ranch. Yeah, a little old, but I'm trying to get my just-turned-8-year-old into some adventure/puzzle games that will exercise his brain instead of just driving and blowing stuff up. Not that there's anything wrong with the latter...I just want him to expand his horizons a little. So far, he seems to really like it. I may queue up some Monkey Island after we solve this one. |

| Re: What are you currently playing? Well, until my previous transfer I used to have a good Ole fashion "Friday Night D&D" We had a nice group of 5 to 7.
Latly I have only been playing BF-BC2. I just had a major problem with the PC and have not reinstalled any other games yet. But I'll be putting Supreme Commander, Dawn of War and StarCraft II back on soon.
I'll have to reinstall steam, When I do it's RcRon7, that's my Steam account.

| Re: What are you currently playing? I used to think that I was good at MP games, but I think that I'm getting old or something. So, I feel like I kind of suck, too.
What this means that if we get enough crappy Mp game players together, it may actually be fun due to the same level of n00bness. |

| Re: What are you currently playing? I just dont know enough people who would play the same game so that i wouldnt feel like a total n00b when i suck cause im trying to learn how to play it. I still think we should get a C&C Renegade thing going. |

| Re: What are you currently playing? New free game I stumbled across on FB. http://us1.battlestar-galactica.bigp.../?afterlogin=2
Free,
Graphics are not bad, considering it is free.
GUI is not to bad, somewhat intuitive
Flight controls take a little getting used to but not to bad.
Runs in your browser, not an installed app!
Oh, it's free.
It's BSG, and you have to chose Cylons or Humans. It is kind of like EVE, you train skills, and resources you collect you use for advancements on your ship. Very straight forward and not a huge learning curve.
Did I mention it is free? |

| Re: What are you currently playing? Oh, I forgot to include it in my previous post, but I've been playing a game called "1...2...3... Kick it! Drop That Beat Like An Ugly Baby" a lot recently. It's a really fun music/rhythm game, I guess the premise is you just fly through levels generated by your music while listening to said music, and you try to "kiss" as many objects as possible by flying close to them without actually touching them. It's really fun, some songs generate enemies that you can shoot, all-in-all it's just an awesome game for anyone who likes music/rhythm games. |

| Re: What are you currently playing? It is coming along quite well. 4 or 5 different world areas with 20-40 instances in each with 100 people on each one. And ya APB Reloaded is what it is going on right now. Free game for anyone who wants to try it. Let me know if you get it, I have a group I run around with in the game. |
