I'm not 100% familiar with the properties of voltage so I'll have to ask again... what about two USB ports, would they provide 10V in either parallel or series?
I'll look up the voltage on Firewire... I never use that port.

Edit: FireWire can supply up to 30v per port.

Its not the supply voltage thats the issue, it changes it to like 600V and takes the amperage out of it. Its similar to the circuit used to make a Xeon strobe fire off, except they use more of a capacitor discharge type than a constant power flow. At least thats how i understand it.
