| Ah, my laptop is taking a toll now that I'm on break because I'm using it. Still though, I'm managing to stay ahead to everyone else near me, and I've recently moved up to 63rd place. |

| Hey all, just out of interest I've downloaded Folding@home (I used to run SETI@home) and I'll run it now and then (mostly when idle) for the Xoxide team on my Dual 2GHz G5. |

| ooo a dual 2ghz G5, that should fold very nicely. good to have a mac'er on the team! Thx.
since t3h bannage i was playing a lot more gaming which means < folding. Usually i spend time on xfn which means > folding (no cpu load) but yeah i still am #19. Me and sam passed emr4nd3l and are climbing up. |

| The problem is that apple's cooling solution is way too focused on beng quiet. The Dual G5 2.5 GHz runs at like 161 F and the board is like 140. |

| well thats easily fixed, all you gotta do is replace the fan.
or if the fan is being toned down just tap it right into PSU |

| Well, I've had mine running it most of the day (consistent cpu use of 50-80% on both processors) and my fans are still in silent mode, in fact I don't think they've run any higher all day... system a-ok.
Edit: and now that I've checked my temp monitor, both CPUs are at 23C, and the highest temp anywhere in the system is 64C

okay...this is an apple...they have funky fans.
and because of this, they don't focus on performance. |

| So apart from the whole contributing to science factor what's the perk in running F@H?
Just bragging rights that your comp pwns everyone elses? |

| Has somebody else been folding under my name because I noticed that on my user statistics it says I finished 11 WUs or something but my main comp has only finished 8 and my laptop is still working on its first, or is this just a glitch.... |

| joined the team. I got a dual core opty which is folding on one core and doing everyting else + gaming on the other. I should be able to leave it on all the time to give xoxide some points. |
