Well you need to create 2 folders(i labeled mine folding0 and folding1)
then download a copy of the F@H non graphical client to desktop...
Copy the f@H file you just downloaded and rename them to match the folders(folding 0 and 1), place them in the folders and run them one at a time thru configuration. The important part is to set machine id's to 1 and 2(won't let you use 0 and 1) respectivley.
I couldn't get it to work because i still had the graphic client installed, but as soon as i deleted the F@H gui folder, the others worked like a charm.
If you still need help, lemme know, cause as soon as Homer explained it, and i did it once, it's very simple. But make sure you GUI client is gone, first!
And a question for Duke... Is it still detrimental to run a
single core on a hyperthreader? Ok to use if HT is disabled(eww)? My 3.0 threader really cranks out the wu's, wouldn't that make up for other issues? If needed i can disable the ht, i just wish i didn't have to.
and to update.. after getting dual folding working last nite, my Pent.D 830 has completed 275,000/500,000 steps, on bothe cores/wu.. I'm still confused as to how a step and a frame are related, but this seems like realy good progress.
and "step count" may have something to do with my checkpoints being 3 minutes apart.
