| Re: Thermaltake XPRESSAR RCS100 Micro Refrigeration Case Just ordered this a week ago. Live in Canada so probably takes a little longer. It is for my I7 975. Will post again once up and running. Mock me for buying such an expensive cooler if want. Not trying to brag but will also try on my QX9770.
Cheers,
Mark. |

| Re: Thermaltake XPRESSAR RCS100 Micro Refrigeration Case well, they the only real review that I can find on it, and that is a brief blurd on xtreme, says that it can take an i7 to 3.9ghz and keep the temp at 40*C
Ya know... big overclock and an 'ok' temp for that high of a clock and with the voltage being bumped... BUT, it is FAR from great... it is about 10*C better than decent water cooling, but far more money.
Now, if they didn't play on the *phase* cooling side of it, I would say it was not all that bad... but you are gonna have people bragging about having a phase system and when it comes to overclocking and performance (for the price) they will still be competing with water cooled systems.
When I think of Phase Cooling, as like most people, I think of SUB-ZERO temps... and most of those temps being -50*C and better (yes, mine is only -30*C, but that is 2 processors and a heatload of close to 300 watts... huge difference compared to a single processor putting out 125watts... or even 200 watts when wickedly overclocked)
Anyways... as far as cooling goes, it seems to do a pretty decent job... is it worth the coin? not to me, but to some it will be - I just wouldn't go bragging about having a phase cooled system after going out and getting one of these... you will end up getting yer butt handed to you by someone with true phase cooling LMAO.

| Re: Thermaltake XPRESSAR RCS100 Micro Refrigeration Case Always wanted to put together a Phase Change rig, but I never could justify dropping the coin needed to put together a good setup.
There was one time that I was ready to pull the trigger and buy a Prometeia unit, but when my wife seen what I was about to purchase, well let's just say it was easier to live in peace without a Phase Change rig than it would have been to live in purgatory with one.
I dig the concept though, and I think that a product like this would make a good choice for a starter system for those whom aren't experienced enough to build one. +1 to Thermaltake for bringing a product to market that inspires the casual computer guy to become a hardcore geek.

| Re: Thermaltake XPRESSAR RCS100 Micro Refrigeration Case Thx North that puts you somewhere out past Grimsby in the sticks (lol). Probably a place I never heard of, with one intersection and a stop sign that says on the back of it 'come back soon'. |
