| New LCD TV Time! Well the wife has blessed me with the choice of buying a new LCD TV for the living room! So today I did some measuring and it turns out a 42inc would be the perfect size for our living room. So I went looking at the 42inc LCD's that newegg has for less than a grand. So I found two brands that I think are pretty good. But I was wanting someone who knows TVs to give me a in-put or show me a really good 42inc TV that's less than a grand.
So without waiting anymore here's the two I picked.
SHARP AQUOS 42" 16:9 6ms 1080p LCD HDTV LC-42D65U http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889101173
And the
LG 42" 1080p 120hz LCD HDTV w/ Super Slim 1.8" - 42LGX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889005050
Thanks to anyone who helps! I'll rep you for taking the time! |

Too bad I already bought a TV February.
It's a 40" Samsung 1080p, I got for $900. Its awesome, but now these slim TVs are coming out. >_< |

| Re: New LCD TV Time! The LG has better specs. Not by much. But it has a better response time, is a bit brighter, little better viewing angle.

there is a reason for that. | Well it's the Scarlet edition, so it was overpriced to begin with.
I'm just guessing they're selling them for cheap because the TV is nearly a year old and it's time for this year's model.
I was looking around and I couldn't find much negative about the LCD. |

| Re: New LCD TV Time! I would get the LG. It has a 120 Hz refresh rate, whereas I believe the Sharp has a 60 Hz refresh rate.
There are many reviewers over the internet that question whether or not this actually makes a difference, but I definitely think it does. I have had the pleasure of watching a 120 Hz LCD and the image is muuch crisper during fast motion parts.
(plus I kinda like the red back, even though it will get dusty and no one will see it :P) |
