Got a new cell phone tonight

Well actually two..

I went to best buy to look at the phones and well they had such a sweet deal on the v600's that I picked up two. They were 249 with instant $50 rebate and a $100 mail in rebate. Plus they came with the motorola bluetooth headset for free (each $99 on its own)

So I went with a 1 year on cingulars network for 59.99 + 9.99 for the extra line.
Got the nation wide plan with 850 anytime minutes shared, with unlimited mobile to mobile & unlimited nights and weekends. (Plus the regulars like call waiting, basic voice mail, rollover, free long distance, etc)

I'm going to get in sooo much trouble having a camera on my phone..;)

I'm giveing the GF her phone probably this weekend. I'm thinking of ways to do it. I might just put the phone on the table, and then when she asks where it came from I'll tell her I got a new cell phone. Then I'll use the bluetooth headset for my phone to call her phone on the table while mine is still in my pocket. So when she asks if I'm going to answer it I'll say its not my phone thats ringing.. I believe its yours...:)

I do need to go get a new color face plate for her phone. This way we can tell them apart with out opening them. She loves blue so I'm going to get the cover for hers.. I will say that I am digging myself into a hole.. Because I'm not going to know what to get her for her birthday in October if I keep getting her this stuff during the summer.

jesus that plans exspensive. 60 a month for 850 minutes. i think my step dad's, bros, and mine is 60 with 1700 any time minutes and everything else u got, but its 20 a month for extra phones and then my mom and my other bro have their own plan.

U got any pics of the phone and that idea sounds pretty good.

its the nation wide plan not the regional. and even the regional faimly talk with cingular is only 1000 minutes for 59.99 plus 19.99 per added line.

But I was only going to go with cingular because of friends that have it so the unlimited mobile to mobile will mean it will not use up anytime minutes, and also the rollover feature will be nice. Since some months I'm sure there will be little anytime usage while others it will be greater. Most of the talking will be between me and my girl so anytime minutes don't affect me really, but the 850 plan was the same price as the 600 plan because of the extra line, is 19.99 with all plans below the 59.99

Sounds sweet man... what i'd do.. is plant it somewhere right around her, where she won't notice it... and be like "I gotta go to the bathroom... " then call the phone you planted.... before hand.. program your new phone number into her phone as "I love you" or something sappy like that.. so she'll be like "Wtf? Phone? I love you...? *answers* ..... hello? AWWWWW!"

I have a shared plan with my bestest bud... $80 a month... 1000anytime, free nights & weekends starting @ 7:00, 100 text messages a piece, etc, etc.... we've both got the Nokia 6800, which is a badass phone.... no camera on it, but that's ok, because i'm a photography student... so a 'camera phone' = lame to me, when i've got actual nice cameras at my disposal...

thats not a bad Idea.. Yea I already programmed her phone, so that when I call the animated wall paper is sappy..;) Still picking out a ring tone to DL for her.

If your into photography then you will love the new chips they are coming out with. They are going to have 6mp camera phones shortly, and xd cards with up to 2gb and higher memory storage. Would be nice to have a 6mega pixle camera with you at all times.. Even though the optics can't be all that great because of the size its better then what we have now

Well I just got an unconfirmed report that she went to go buy a cell phone today.. :( I did not get to talk to her before she left because I was in class.
I told her best friend about the phone already, so she is going to try and talk her out of buying one today. Worse case is that she gets one today, so I'll just keep the second line active and give her the V600 to use with her plan(Just swap the sims). I just hate to see her spend money each month on a phone bill when she is trying to buy a car this summer..

I had AT&T back in 2000. The service sucked, and customer service was terrible, rated right up there with nextel customer service..

If verizon would have offered a family package with rollover and Unlimited Mobile to Mobile I would have considered going with them. They have great service but there plans are a bit more money and don't offer all the same benfits/options

a 6mp camera in a phone is so pointless..... the only reason you need higher resolution is for actual photography (like if you're gonna be making prints of the image at high resolutions and ****...) wasted effort... i'll stick with Canon's new Digital Rebel, thanks!

I have friends with rebels. RIT is one of the top photography schools. But that is the idea of the 6mp cameras.. you can get quality pics & video with your phone that you can send to your pc to do what you want with it

Well I'm pretty sure my plan has gone to hell..
I have not talked to her today, I had classes till 7pm tonight and by the time I got home she had already gone out.. Her friend is at work till 11pm so, once she gets back I'll ask her what happened. She said she was going to try her best to keep her from buying a phone, I told her that if it came down to it she could just tell her that I got her a phone. So I don't know how things turned out yet. I just hope that if she did get a cell phone that its a GSM network, this way I can give her the v600 to use.
