Nope and never do...turned off email notification a very long time ago.

Board notifications seem to be disabled somehow. I had to manually validate my accounts because I never received the activation email. Hopefully someone who knows a bit more about this stuff than myself can look into this.

Well, are you guys using the board software to send the emails, or do you have it set to use an email server?

I dont have the slightest clue. I'd assume its the software, but we have someone else running the forums I guess. So they might be doing something else, I really dont know.

In the Admin Control Panel (ACP) there should be a setting allowing the board to manage emails. For external emails, you need to have an SMTP server set up to handle them. I would guess that the SMTP would be mail.xoxideforums.com but an MX record would have to be set up if one does not exist. Sans that, the hosting place should be able to set up something. I have some websites hosted at my house, and my ISP dictates that all outgoing mail must go through their server to fight spam, so the setting is mail.myisp.net. But if you run your own domain and have control over the SMTP settings, it would be mail.xoxideforums.com.

All of your mail has to go through their server to "FIGHT SPAM?" That's RIDICULOUS. That's like believing you have to pass through a checkpoint 200 miles from the border for "National Security."

What is your ISP, if you don't mind sharing? I don't want them ever reading my e-mail, or sharing it with big brother's aggregation systems. You know the American government is researching the type of "pre-crime" you've seen in minority report? They do it by programming the computers that sort through information like masses of e-mail not just for keywords, but now they can program them to recognize and tabulate abstractions like whole ideas.

Yea, in the sense that some users on their network had some nasty worms infecting the rest of the ISP users, and they had to block their access. It looks for suspicious activity like bulk mail and such. I trust them pretty good.
