theres 10000+ threads talking bout F@H
Super PI @ Prime95 are different programs. You only want to run them one @ a time. |

| wow, i bet it took you longer to link that picture and type that very very helpfull sarcastic remark. rather then just typing (F@H = Folding@Home)
---------------------------------------
The reason i ask if you run SuperPI and Prime95 seperatly is cause...
im not faimliar with SuperPI but i have used Prime95... and Prime's own FAQ stated that its sometimes better to run it with other programs, cause that could reveal a potential error or problem were as running it by itself may not.
But i dont know if its recomended to run SuperPI by itself or with others. cause i simiply know nothing about it. and actually finding it difficault to find a download link or information.
so anyone willing to help, please provide a link if you have one. |

super PI will take up 100% of your cpu, so running prime95 during it could be better in finding the 101% stable system, but may also force to up your volts to remain stable, which brings around more heat, which defeats the overall goal of cpu burning in.
i didnt bother to tell you what F@H is b/c i think people would feel better when they put forth the effort to learn something, instead of being spoonfeed it. At least, i personally think so. |

| i haven't oc'ed my cpu much, due to temp reasons, but i always thought that overvolting was used for higher speeds not undervolting. can someone explain how this works?
(for now ive only oc'ed cpu a little and graphics card alot, havent touched ram yet) |

(for now ive only oc'ed cpu a little and graphics card alot, havent touched ram yet) | 1. google clockgen, find the correct version for your motherboard.
2. lower the volts by .025.
3. run super pi, or prime 95
4. if you come up with errors, raise the volts back up by .025, and run super pi, prime 95, f@h, w/e takes up 100% cpu, for several days, go back to step 2. (your cpu may not like lower volts, and my never run stable @ a lower voltage, after 2 tries, i'd just stop, yoru cpu is going nowhere)
5. if you dont come up with errors, go back to step 2.
by lower the voltage of your cpu, but not changing the fsb of the cpu, you will allow your cpu to run cooler, and more efficently, which will allow you to achieve a higher overclock on then before. |

| Hey Joe, what setting should I configure in Prime95 to make it test how I want it to? Also, you run "Torture Test" right? And is Prime95 the best app to do this with? Thanks for your guide. |

I suggest you burn in it in windows with clock gen, after finding the lowest volt it runs stable at, set that voltage in your bios. its that simple. Quote: |

My friend burned in his P3 1.0GHz using clock gen. |

your heatsink was glowing red huh? Aluminum melts @ 660.37 °C (933.52 °K, 1220.666 °F)
The hottest CPU threshold would be the Pressys, which can handle up to 90C for brief periods of time.
stop making **** up. |

there is no way your cpu could get hot enough to make your heatsink glow. get your facts straight, it isnt possible. |
