| this is sort of a thread-hack, sorry ... but since there are so many Armor users posting, i thought i'd post an image of a real simple mod that will make your top exhaust fan more efficient.
when i first got the armor case, i couldn't believe the TOP exhaust fan had such a blocked window thru which to exhaust; ie > not many holes in the top for air flow, and besides that the stock fan was sort of weak; and so, using an electric drill and the drill bit that best matched the wholes that were already present in the top exhaust screen, i simply drilled out a much more adequate window:
here's a screen shot; look at your stock top-grill to judge the difference:
...
...
also, i replaced the stock exhaust fan with a higher CFM antec fan ... lowered my case temps minimally, maybe 1 degree or so ... but it helped to increase the air flow. |

| Thanks guys, I will get those wires in order once I drop the wc kit in there.
I don't know how much better it will look with 3 water blocks and a swiftech MPC665 in there; might be a little cramped.
I am almost want to build a custom external enclosure that sits on top the pc case and just clean up the internals, besides when the R600 DX10 ATI cards come I will need room in there. |

| Water-cooled Lexa. Recently I bought a Swiftech 220 Ultra + water-cooling Kit, initially I was going to hold off on using it until I got a bigger case but I went ahead and modified my beautiful Lexa case to incorporate it until I get the Mozart TX I want.
I decided to place the pump and reservoir on top to allow full access to the internals.
The supplied fans have no speed sensor so I could not utilize my mobo’s onboard fan controller; these things are 75 cfm, 120mm’s and at 12v they are very loud.
Used the supplied 5v connectors and it makes them almost silent but you take a drastic performance hit. At 12v they dropped my full load temps by around 10 deg C over my old Zalman 9500 on high.
Nevertheless the fans at only 5v the cpu temp while gaming is right around what my 9500 was on high. So I am ordering some new 50 cfm 120mm’s with speed sensors for the perfect mix.
However the gpu temps were cut in half from 80+ down to 40-45 deg C, even with an over-clock to 690/800MHz (ATI Overdrive’s max for my card). With the factory heat sink assembly and even an Artic Cooler on there the card would not over-clock at all with out artifacting all over the place.
