El_Wildy, put your PC on your desk and stick your sub down there if it fits. It seems weird not sitting the sub on the floor, but my last one sat on a bottom shelf 2" or so off the ground. It was pretty kickass because the desk actually shook when a grenade went off in CS. Try it. :)

not random at all. each has it's place:

fan for heat sink; fan for active cooling of ram; fan over video card (runs only when gaming); exhaust fan ...

here's a breakdown (you'll have to view the image at full size to read the details):

works quite nicely ...

"sleeve, shmeeve!"

it would only be a cosmetic effort at best ...

in defense of my wildnerness styles: the temps on cpu and mb are the same with the above setup *in* the armor case as they are with running the cpu and mb *outside* of the armor case and on a shelf.

performance and temps. all that matters.

i have made some efforts to clean the machine up, though ... for pure asthetic viewing pleasure ...

you should have seen it two months ago!

thanks for the word, though ... fellow armor owner. i *love* this case ... despite how dusty it is ... and it's wiring challenges ... and the squeaky front doors that don't really cover the front drive bays ... and it's neato side panel fan ... and ... and ...

for those of us committed to staying on air ... it's a sure thing.

peace.

after volt modd'n the 7900gt to 1.5v's ... and clocking to around 700/852, i wanted to do anything to cut down on gaming temps ... which as it stands, never exceed 65ish ...

the iceberq 6 cooler was adequate but was looking to milk every last degree off of my load temps and found that the fan shaves another 4 to 5 off when turned on max only when gaming; it's directly over the copper ramsinks that shipped with the iceberq cooler. it's a loud fan, too ... so don't use it unless i've got head phones on and playing.

re the volt mod ... if any 7900GT owners out there haven't done that ... you should investigate; gave me about a 2000 point jump up in 3dmark05 and an extra 20 to 40 fps in most games over previous stock overclock.
