| The front light on a Thermaltake, help a brutha please! =) Hey, i have a thermaltake v2000 or whatever...
the front has the light-up thermaltake logo...
I want to change the image, instead of a the word thermaltake put in sideways, because that = lame.
I've opened the piece before to see if I could just stick something in front of it... but i can't, because the film or whatever and words are like one piece..
can someone let me know how they changed theirs? (I've seen a few floating around with frigging matrix code on em...) and/or is it safe to just pry the black part off of the blue lighting?
If someone knows where to find the info on the other Thermaltakes that've been modded, please hook me up with links (i can't find em for some reason.)
(you love kisses. :) ) |

| I don't think you quite understand what's going on with one of those things, it's just a piece of shaped EL Film or something, buddy... there's nothing to really rip out. |

| Chances are that any modifications you've seen ripped the entire thing out and replaced it. |

| I have a thermaltake case that has the lighted up logo on it, what you need to do is purchase the Thermaltake X-View (it fits the 5.25" drive bays). This will give you the lighted el strip that will connect to the on/off switch you already have in your case. Just unplug the el strip you dont want, and replace it with the new one. Then you can print out any design on transparency paper to create your own logo. It is really easy to do if you have the time and money to get the el strip. If you want more info or have any further questions just PM me and I will be glad to help you. |

| well, me thinks that you can probably remove the top layer of the logo type dealie to reveal just the el strip, then attach whatever you want.
and hey, those xviews, they have an el strip in them? |

thanks for the info johnny, I knew about the x-view but I couldn't remember what it was called, or find it on the net, because Tt's website is effin' bunk, and crap to navigate... I had seen the x-view things though, my buddy has one in his comps extra 5.25....
please don't tell me you're going to put the matrix rain code in yours though, Johnny, if so, i'm gonna jab my eyes out with spoons.
what i'd eventually wanna do, is print off a Oscilliscope looking type of design, and put a LED meter behind it, so it kinda looked like the thing was zig-zaggin up and down to the sounds emitting from my box.
~edit~
But I don't know enough bout electricity, and ciruitry and ****... I know some of you have a good knowledge about it... can you please let me know any good resources for figuring stuff like that out??
Another thing I'm interested in is how much power each 4-pin molex connector on a power supply gives out, and how to know how much, what stuff you can connect to a single one, by splitting, and crap... that'd be an excellent thing to answer for me, if you could, because I'm in the process of a crazy wire management process. |

| Alright, I just ordered an x-view last night, from Star Tech (?)
I've never even heard of them before, so I don't know if they're popular or anything. http://pc11.flashecom.com/startech/index.asp
I don't know if that'd be considered like spamming for another company, so if the homies on XFN want me to take that url off, I will.
But the company's already pleased me. I made the order last night at like 1 in the morning, and he (the webmaster) just gave me a call (9:30 in the morning.) and talked to me for about 5 minutes.
He called because for some reason my info wasn't showing up or something, and they were worried that the account and **** I made was fraud, but then I was like 'yeah, blah blah blah' and we're all set now, so he licked the stamp, and it's on it's way...
(again, if xoxide wants me to edit this post, just lemme know.)
but yeh, the x-view's on it's way, and hopefully i'll find the time (now that i'm outta school, my graudation is tonight, actually...) to do some wire management on my computer, and get some other work done to it as well.. |

| The only reason I have not changed my front EL strip is because I do not know what I want to put in replace of the "Thermaltake" yet. I am definitely not using the Matrix logo. |
