| Laptop Voltage Does anyone have any idea if laptops use the same voltage as regualr pcs do? I have a cathode out of my dad's old laptop and I want to hook it up to my computer, but there are 7 wires going to this thing, and they all hook up to a board with the rest of the LCD wires (about 50). It says 1.5A/32V on the connector to the inverter board, but I don't know if that's output or input, and what wires carry what... I know that you could do a command to turn it on from the keyboard, and so that's probably what the other wires were for, but I don't know what the rest of them are for... Any help would be appreciated! |

| The Mobile Processors run on lower voltages, but I'm fairly certain that everything else uses the same voltage. |

| good idea I didn't think of that... I will go try that right now!
Edit: No luck... the laptop's busted... I took the LCD out of the laptop (really old) and I am trying to use the CCFL backlight. It seems like I should just try it... Thanks for the help, and my digicam is broken so I can't give you any pics for the moment... I'll see what I can do. |

| oh jeez nubs
yes, im fairly sure everything still runs on the same voltages, i know that some are lower, to decrease heat, but yeah.
problem is, a laptop psu probably cant handle another thing on its line, its probably powering almost all it can as it is. |

| This is true; laptop PSUs are kept small for better battery life and less heat. |
