| Quatakai's Modding Frenzy. Alright, I'm trying to get some good reviews on this, of course I dont have any pics right now because 1) I'm at school and 2) I haven't recieved all my equipment to mod. 3) I dont have a dremel handy.
I'm thinking of making my case Blue, with a black interior and green cathode lighting. I'm probably just going to buy a new full tower blue Chenming Dragon series case. It doesn't have a window so i'm doing to sketch my own design on it then dremel it out. I might put a 120mm blowhole on the top also. But also, what does anyone think of my mod? |

| I'm going to be doing more to it. But I'm at school, so I can't really give all the details and ****. I was thinking about modding my computer and putting it right into my wall. But I dont have the equipment on me to do that :D My grandfather does though, so I might ask him about it. |

| well, a computer in a wall certainly isn't made for lanning, lol. that would be an interesting idea, you can say that your entire house is the box for the comp! |

| The color mix is kind of odd. And, if you put it in the wall, what would the point of the cathodes be, wouldn't it cover up the whole side panel (unless you are putting them in the front)? |

| No no, see, the case would BE the wall, so there would be vents so things like the power supply could breathe, and the case would be like.. Sideways, so the side could be facing out wards towards me. |

| yay to anime, they definatly need another season of hellsing.
but back to topic, i've though about this before when i had nothing to do. You could build like a cabnet into your wall with a plexi door. Because whats the point of any kind of computer work if you cant show it off?
Then you can add fans to the plexi since it's so easy to work with. The only down side i could come across would be you might need to do some of your own wiring but thats not very difficult. Veltilation could be a problem if you dont know what your doing, but building your own "case" gives you like a million opportunities to ventilate it all out. |

| i thought bout it .... the only prob is for me would be ... what if you go a new sound card ... then u would need to cut out a slot ..... and it would be difficult to work with ... but never the less it can be done .... you could also (if its yur house) run dryer hose from a really cool shaded part of the house to the the case ... talk bout cooling .... faceless has the righ idea tho |

| zyphron, too confusing and wouldnt work, fan doesnt have the power to suck air 50 feet on the other side of the house. what i think you should do is this:
Cut hole in wall and give it a little metal type inner lining. put a rolling tray on the bottom of this that will completely recess. after test fitting computer case pull out the lining. cut holes in top of inner lining and holes in case to fit exactly. run angled ducts up from the box to a little higher on the wall, give a big nice looking grate, kinda like a heater grate. put a filter on it. those can be outs or ins. once thats done, then cut another big rectangular hole in the lining and wall, for cords to run out of. make a nice sized(1"-2") hole down near where the monitor will be going. put a plastic plug in the hole for now. make sure you can run wires from hole to hole(i recommend a dryer duct or equivelent sized item to run wires through) then pop in your computer in its ugly case with side panel removed and all modifications done to it already. mount a nice wooden and plexi/glass paneled door to the front that is on hinges and opens outwards. mount a few intakes on this panel. mount on/off switches and usb ports on sides. mount optical 5.25" drives on top and bottom of door, keep it well screwed in and supported so it does not pull on the frame or fall. lastly throw in the lights. make sure that all air vents are venting to the correct areas and that any intake fans wont suck up drywall or equivalent. psu fan is going to have to route somewhere else, definitely up somewhere, but if you wanna put another duct in-or route it to the other ducts as stated above, but the other fans on top must be exaust and not intakes.
Long and worthy post. if it was my house i would be busy right now ... :D |

| Not enough detail, not all that crazy of a mod so I said sux0rs. You should put a network switch or something in the top of your case. |
