| Project WTF (gateway full tower) This past week I was forced to upgrade my system when the CPU fried and took the mobo with it. All of the new stuff fits in the current tower but it's been modded and remodded to the point that I think it's time to start fresh. Yes, my fresh start is going to be with a Gateway full size tower. Some of the planned mods include:
1: getting rid of the one peice cover and converting it to a hinged/ windowed access door.
2: Blowhole/ holes for possible future water cooling
3: Round IDE cables, wraped power cables.
4: Dual power supplies 1. 450watt for the PC 1. 300 watt for any accessories, lights and extra fans. (the key here is excess)
5: Chassis paint, Case paint (Black and Red colors)
6: I add more to the list everytime I look at this beast of as case.
I will post more pics of the progress as I build. I've had it for a dy already and have the door hinged and bigger openings cut in the chassis for better airflow. |

| I did that but it didn't work. Later today I'll throw something together for a website and post a link. I've been paying for but haven't been using the webspace for a few months. I'm just to lazy to put the effort into building a new site. |

| damn it worked... ok the first pic is what I started with and this is pretty much where its at right now Yes it did start as a one peice slide on cover so I had to cut it to hinge the left side. I also did 2 4" blow holes on top for a pair of 120mm evercools. I've cut the top out of the chassis for air flow from these fans and for better radiator airflow should I do the water cooled thing in the future. |

| The 300w PSU after a coat of paint some UV reactive sleeving and a little heat shrink. I also turned the fan around so that it brings cool air into the PSU instead it exhausting the towers hot air out over it. In a small tower this wouldnt be such a great idea because it would just bring more heat into the case but on this one with the 2 4" exhaust fans on the top just above the PSUs it will hope fully let the run a bit cooler and not draw the heat into the tower. (if not the I can always turn the fans back around) |

| I got the PSU paint at walmart I think but you can probably get it at the parts store too. It comes in red, blue, silver, and gold and the color on the caps is a shiny reflective metal look. (it ends up with more of the effect of a candy color for a car. It can only be sprayed over bare metal but they have a special primer so that you can spray on non metallic surfaces too. But be careful and FOLLOW the directions. I'm used to using auto paint so i have a habit on not reading directions on spray cans and ended up having to strip down and redo the first piece that i painted. |

I didnt think i'd get that much response just from the psu I'm curious to see what happens when I paint the case. Ok, as requested the color on the psu's is made by Dupli-Color and is called Metalcast |
