| Sounds good, I hope this one goes a bit better...
Anyway...my current best is 31.640s
I think I can get it down to under 31s though. |

i thought that if I OC my 3500+ and run a 34.xxx run I would win for sure. I got to less than .007s away (yeah i know, 007, w00t...) from 34.xxx...... But all you damn people with your opterons! haha |

| Hey Gomeler & hipno650, no need to fret if you don't end up with 50 posts. I'd rather see 30 quality posts more than 50 "blah" posts.
Keep the scores comin guys. ^_^ |

| Excellent :) I'll keep checking up on this forum and post where I can help. Just started benching and decided to start at 4GHz and this sure is strange. I guess the 4MB of cache on the E6600 really helps as I can't beat the scores that are 200 MHz lower. Time to teach myself some SPi tricks/tweaks and start pushing the clocks. Will post my results in a few hours or so just so I have something submitted. |

| thats good to here man!!! i want to help you guys out not spam you. so i have found some areas already to help in. and if you know anyone who is building a new rig and needs advice on what to put in it tell them to send me a pm because thats what i do i run a small computer biz that specializes in customs gaming rigs and high performance computers.
scores look good guys. |

| Spent the good portion of the day searching and applying all the SPi tweaks I could find via google and my results still weren't good enough, even with sub-zero core temperatures. My ram is currently holding me back, I either need an e6600 or some ram rated for DDR2-1200+ performance. Oh well, I pushed the limits and it was fun.
Stock Run 2133MHz DDR2-667 @ 5-5-5
Highest Stable Overclock 4200MHz DDR2-1050 @ 5-5-5 1.6vcore in bios
Lowest SPi Time 4198 MHz DDR2-1050 @ 5-5-5 1.6 vcore in bios
All three runs were done on my experimental single stage charged with propane, evap temp unloaded is a crisp -44 celsius and during the 4200MHz runs it settled around -26 celsius. Processor temperature is unknown as coretemp stops at 1*C and the BIOS refuses to read below ~30 celsius. Unless I pick up an e6600/qx6700 or a 650/680 motherboard then this will be as fast as I get, a shame. Goodluck everyone! |

| Nice results, Gomeler! I'd let you borrow my E6600 if you let me borrow your single stage. :P |

| if that cache makes that much of a difference then those clocks on a 6600 might break into 12s for gomeler |

| I doubt it, because a QX6700 @ 5GHz with 8MB cache got only ~11ms. |

| once you break into 11s it gets much harder to decrease your time. it doesn't scale linearly. |

| the quad core is also memory bandwidth starved it is not as good at pi as conroe clock for clock but it can do 4 at once and destroy conroe at that |

| Well with an E6600 I would have the 9x multiplier and could potentially hit ~520*9 so 4680 MHz or so. After 520MHz my ram gets flaky which I believe is causing all of my problems as with the 6x multiplier I still wall at 528MHz. System will suicide shot up past 4300MHz but once you even more the mouse for a few seconds the system crashes. With a 650i motherboard I could run the ram unlinked and maybe hit 13.5 seconds but that'd be pushing it with the E6400. If you want a general idea on how processors line up, check out the XS hwbot SuperPi 1M Thread. With my current clocks on an E66 I'd have roughly a 12 second time ;) XS HWBOT
and considering how I still have a month to go in this little competition, I might have to buy an E6600 and pray for another good stepping. |

| 27.953, I'm sure I can still go further on my current rig. I keep changing different BIOS settings and learning more about what my system can handle. We'll see what happens. My Asus SLI board shows up on the 8th and we'll see if I can add the watercooling or not. |
